 Archaically winter is a season of gathering, planning, meditation and rebirth, the weather is cold, drizzle, snow and some heat in the air is enchanted, the hibernation of Ritualistic Nature is due to some of these factors. To celebrate this coming I leave you with this new post, reporting now that the next entries will come from cold Russia, a country that gives us interesting and obscure musical projects of high quality and inspiration.

 NEZNAMO is the music project of  Dmitry N. Shilov from Russia, that in 1996 start creating music with the name of "Unknow" the main  goal of the project was the exploration of human's "true ego", using  sound/melodical patterns as the way to immerse into the Unconscious, later the project change the name to Neznamo.

‘Seme>Zemlya’ is the first release from Russian Moonsun Productions,  formed in 2007 on which Neznamo has released two parts of his MY  trilogy, this being the first.

This E.P. is a solemn Ritual that cross drone landscapes with minimal layers of void that transcend the absence of time, the first track is simple amazing, that makes me feel part of a calm, mysterious and inpired dense fog. Highly Recommend record.

Various – RITUAL PERCUSSION OF KERALA - Vol. 1: Kshetram Vadyam (1998)

Tini Kerala is located in the southwestern tip of India, but its culture differs considerably from those of India subcontinent. Keralan culture drived from ancient tribes of the region, Hinduism in Kerala appears as a generic term with a variety of ancient rituals. The innumerable temple festivals encompassing numerous art forms and attracting huge crowds of devotes, and are enriched with music, performing, elephant processions, special pujas (forms of worship) etc. The major event in the festival series is the annual temple festival Thripunithura, some of the recordings featured on this disc were made in front of the performing artists, in the midst of a cheering crowd. The diversity of Kerala music styles can best be described in terms of a continuum ranging from pure improvisation to pure composition. The drums used in the styles featured here are chenda (Chempata Melam, Kuzhal Pattu), thimila (Panchavadyam), edaykka (Panchavadyam), and maddalam (Panchavadyam and Maddalam Keli). The wind instruments are kuzhal (kuzhal Pattu, Chempata Melam) and kombu (Chempata Melam and Panchavadyam). The cymbals ilathalam also appers in all tracks. All recordings were made by Rolf Killius (1995-96).

 Prima Materia was a obscure experimental drone project that took shape in 1973 in San Diego, consisting by Claudio Ricciardi, Gianni Nebbiosi, Roberto Laneri and Susanne Hendricks, they created a amazing sound with the use of the most  original and archaic instrument, the human voice. 

 The unusal developed vocal techniques were originally used in Tantric rituals  in North India, Mongolia and Tibet, based upon the use of overtones  coupled with a special state of inner concentration, which was the  essential condition for both the emission and control of long-sustained  and complex vocal sounds. You must have a open mind to appreciate this outstanding dense ritual trance inducing drone vocal soundscapes. HIGGLY RECOMMEND record.

  Will not long time ago the drone music began to arouse interest in a significant number of listeners, and since then began to emerge many musical projects, some good others bad, that follow this line of sound, or simply become influenced by it. A-M#2 is on the list of the good ones, its a recent project that comes from France, the name "a-m#2" stands for "arrière-monde numéro deux", which means "backworld number  two". The concept if we could call that, its about exploring the infinite world of unsuspected details, the  sounds we don't hear, the lights we don't see, the perception we fail  to access.

 The field recordings are the vast majority of  material used to create this beautiful progressive minimalist soundscapes, where the sound structure of nature is subtly unveiled to our subconscious, revealing to us through the chaos of noise,  not always understood by us, but its beauty is there for those who dare to explore.

For those of you who dont know, Freya Aswynn's is the entity created by Elizabeth Hooijschuur a figure of considerable distinction within the Norse heathen community, a dedicated priestess of Odin, rune-mistress and writer that in past years has collaborated with some musical projects such as 6omm, Current 93, Les Joyaux De La Princesse and Fire+Ice, well know artists in the field of Neo-Folk music.

 Aswynn's" has  released three albums under her own name, The Fruits Of   Yggdrasil was originally released as a limited-edition   vinyl LP on Eyas Media in 1987,  1995’s Shades Of Yggdrasil  and 1998’s Songs Of Yggdrasil,   which was released to accompany the Northern Mysteries and Magick book.  The Fruits Of Yggdrasil was re-released in 2002 on  the Austrian label  Edition Ananael, with bonus tracks including Freya’s  tracks with  Current 93 and Fire + Ice, as well as two tracks with Wayne  Owens  originally released on Shade of Yggdrasil, and it has now been  released  by the Hau Ruck!.

 This album’s  focus is on initiation into the northern mysteries, the sound is difficult to describe, the spoken words are always present, reciting magic and ancestry words, the tribal and industrial percussions set the pace,  haunting flutes and  background weird soundscapes thicken the beauty and mystery of this record, that i higgly recommend  if you have an open mind.

This is a very very Rare tape that was on my older blog "The Rosemary Locale" that i tranfer here, this AMAZING music compilation is from the defunct Portuguese Label Reaping Hord, Johan Aernus was the label founder, and he was behind projects like Wolfskin, Karnnos etc. the label had edit industrial/dark ritual ambient/neo-folk records in very limited editions.

The Nemeth is dedicated to the sacred woods.All tracks are great but there is one artist i personal like a lot,Ereshkigal (was a dark ritual ambient project of Karnnos member A. Guerra, exploring the themes of labyrinths of the Old Goddesses and their lunar energies.), i think that this project never publish a solo record, its sad, becouse this is Very Good .  This Cassete was one of my first approach to Ritual Music, the first  time that i had contact with this great portuguese project was through a  small advertsing that was on a historic portuguese music newspaper, now  magazine (Blitz) that in that time has a little column dedicated to  metal scene,and was there that i found the contact of Reaping Hord label, that  catch all my attention, and when i decided to buy this k7 i was total  "blind" for what i will listening, and when this arrived to my mail box,  my first reaction was about the amazing handmade package that comes this gem and more perplexed I was when heard the content, it was for me a discover to new interesting sounds, thanks "Wolfskin".

  This k7 album its very very rare and of course its HIGGLY RECOMMEND.

" Wolfskin is the dark ambient/ritual/industrial project of Portugese musician Johan Aernus.

GYDJA - Helchemy (2008)

 Gydja (an Old Norse word for priestess)  is  Abby Helasdottira a music project that comes from New Zealand and has been exploring music since 1995, she has also a side-project named Clear Stream Temple.

First time that i  had contact with this great project was through a tape that Johan Aernus (WOLFSKIN, KARNNOS) had recorded for me some years ago to spread the sounds of the extinct portuguese label REAPING HORD, in this tape there was a amazing Gydja track titled "cuaman lac (Rokkrsong)" that captured all my attention. The sounds created by this artist begun with the aim to use them for magickal and shamanic purposes and to glorify the mother nature. Gyjda creates ambient soundscapes with sudden moments of harmony, disharmonic atonal and meditative structures with ritualistic sounds for the inner peace.
 This record has two long tracks and the title is a portmanteau of alchemy and Hela, the Germanic goddess of  the dead and as such, explores the way in which imagery overlaps  between the two. Another album that I recommend to you all.

 Back to the posts on Ritualistic Nature, this one its a little different from the sounds i usually disclose here, the first reason is that i Like a Lot this music project along time ago, and was one of my first approach to the real industrial music, the second reason is that this AMAZING project have in all their records some great industrial tribal percussions whith great ambient parts and sometimes e could say that they are very ritual too, but beware the sound of these artists who are currently inactive, I think ...requires a preparedness from the listener, to take in the splendor of his creativity, that is full

of noise, experimentation, guttural and distorted voices, meditative dark ambient sounds with soft and hard industrial sounds and other things. I had already placed three of these four albums in the old blog that was a member, "the rosemary locale", that i decide to tranfer here.

"Mental Destruction is/was the industrial project of the Durling brothers,  originally aided by third member Jonas Blåberg, and is one of the more  significant early industrial artists in Scandinavia. They refer to their  music as "orthodox industrial", as the inspiration of the lyrics is  their devotion to Christ. Mental Destruction were involved in another side-project Azure Skies, the latest news on their site (2007) indicate that they are working in a new studio material...

All records are HIGGLY RECOMMEND.

Abyss is a Polish music project, which has been founded  in the end of 2006. I was not to post this here, becouse  the artist deviates slightly from the sounds that i want to disclose here on R.N., but as I like the last track I decided to give it a chance. This is not a normal post on R.N., and i apologie for that, but i would like divulge my new Art Project, so here it is a brief description:
Mail Art is the creative process by which it is used as a means of transmitting the traditional postal service and, therefore, postcards, envelopes, stamps and postmarks are some of the medium on which is possible expression of this art. The artists mainly use techniques such as collages, photos, writing, painting or digital art.
"Art in the Mail" is my personal project of Mail Art, I will create ArtWorks in small format, where painting and collage predominate, they are sent to different artists and galleries throughout the world as to future events related to the art movement in question

 I think that Diamanda Galas dont need any presentation, due to the artist in question i do not know how long this post will be here until it receive a complaint ...

 The Litanies of Satan his her first album, originally issued as a 45rpm 12", consists of two pieces, the title track based on  texts of Baudelaire and Wild Women with Steak-Knives listed as being  "for solo scream".

TUU - One Thousand Years (1993)

TUU was a great music project that start their activity on late 80’s through to 1999, consisting of Martin Franklin, Mykl O' Dempsey & Richard Clare, that emerging on the post-Rave ambient scene in UK.

The sound is somekind that could be descrive as a ethno tribal ambient music, with plenty of flutes, Tibetan singing bowls and an overall "meditative" aura.

Temnojar is another Great project that comes from Russia, "Nordscapes" is a compilation album that features Temnojar's Ultima Thule EP, recorded in 2002, Nordlight Generator (2003), two tracks ("Sibera" and "Through the Milleniums") from the band's unreleased first demo, and one new song, "Snowlight".

This record its not typical post on Ritualistic Nature, becouse in this great epic atmospheres that we find on the album, there are few moments that can be connect with ritual music, the record travel through different sounds, like darkwave, electronic, sometimes with dance rhythms, ethnic instruments and very nice soundscapes with percussions, all in all, its a very well done record with majestic ambient sounds that give us a very nice feeling of sorrow and happiness with the surrounding beautiful north landscapes.

First of all Ritualistic Nature dont have intention to post music in the field of pure dark ambient music, so probaly you will find a little strange to see this record here, but the reason its becouse in all the discography of this artist, i think this album its the only one that have some of the ritual feeling that this site explore.

Profane Grace comes from USA and its a music project formed in 1990 by Ixithra, the music created by this artist its some kind of creepy dark gothic ambient music, with guttural voices whispered in the background while synth drones tend to stick at the forefront with tinkling metal that gives a very ritual nice moments. Its a record that should be approached with some caution, since this kind of sounds can not please to everyone.

This recording of music from Arnhem Land dwellers dates back to an expedition from a group of apparently naïve Czech ethnomusicologists in 1969, record by Dr. Miroslav Prokopec on HUER report tape record, from the North Australia region. The persons behind this compilation make a vague attempt to cover all of the major styles of the various tribes in the region, and do it with great success.
One of the nicer features of this album is the focus on song, which is really the focus of Aboriginal music with the didgeridoo taking a third-place standing behind the song and the clapsticks.

This is a great record, a little different from the usual compilations on this gender, so you should approach with caution, with open mind to this real aborigenal ritual music.

In ancient Bulgarian language Kayno Yesno Slonce means "like a bright shining sun", this is a music project

by Veselin Mitov that comes from Bulgaria. This record is inspired by the Nature and dedicated to His power.

In this inspirational disc with a very beautiful cover, we find layers of synths as a background, rattles, nice ritual percussions, chants and bagpipes that drown you in a deep voyage trough the landscapes of the Bulgarian country, that make a connection between our past and the times were we lived as the conduct of the Wheel of the Year, a happy feeling of freedom, that must of us forgot. The music brings the sense of inevitable tragedy and the yearning for freedom, may be a prayer for the coming of these ancient times.

The Lakota also known as Lakȟóta, Teton, Tetonwan ("dwellers of the prairie"), Teton Sioux) are a Native American tribe. They are part of a confederation of seven related Sioux tribes (the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ or seven council fires) and speak Lakȟóta, one of the three major dialects of the Sioux language.

This is a very nice record performed by singer Joseph Shields and Jr. (Ihunktowan Dakota/Sicangu Lakota), this collection presents rarely recorded songs that accompany the sacred Pipe ceremonies of the Lakota. Sung in honor of Grandfather Spirit, these songs reflect the spiritual traditions of the Lakota people that center around their introspective ceremonies.

As as whole, what we can find here are Ritual songs accompanied by traditional instruments of this tribe, where the use of flute and percussions carry us to the archaic traditions of the Indians, where even dont understand their dialect, we are emotionally moved by ancestral tribal forces to the ritualistic act and its important role in the spiritual development.

NA-DHA " Voices Without A Sound " (2001)

NA-DHA its a strange side project from Sandy Nijs, the man behind one of the must great ritual music projects ever, im talking about Hybryds, one of my favourite of all time, in this kind of sounds (you can find some records here on R.N., in future i will post more).

This record its a very strange voyage in the recesses of the mind and soul, the listener is taken "into the space of dream-like images and forms, makes him feel like somnambulist in the full-moon night in some haunted land." This record its very experimental but ritualistic too, treated voice samples from some short movies are used, that intertwined with ambient and meditative structures, building an unreal hall of sound mirrors reflecting different elements of this illusory world. All tracks on this album was recorded live during nightsessions.

So please enjoy this wonderfull and strange dream -magik-ambient music. Highly Recommended record.

A few days ago I received on my email a new record, which runs along the more traditional ambient sounds, this type of sound normally dont attracts me a lot, but as this album has some interesting use of instruments like, Synths, digeridoo, overtone flutes, fujara, homemade rattles, shells, rocks, "found percussion" that gives it some nice soft tribal moments, i think it would be interest put it here, but in future i will not post this kind of sounds on R.N., this is a exception.

"Frore is Paul Casper from Virginia Beach VA, the sounds that he created evokes a dark thoughtful, primitive, atmosphere for reflection and or dreaming, the artist thinks it's music connects with "something", but he has yet to figure out what that is...Is it music for the world before us, or for the tribes of tomorrow? Either way it's music that respects how small we are in world that - while getting smaller - is still pretty damn big and still mysterious. Frore hopes to put some of that mystery back in our world."

If you like artists like Steve Roach or Robert Rich i think you will like this too.

Scott Righteous from Canada, its the creative mind that start this music project, he is part of different bands and have other personal music projects behind Bitther Harvest, i dont know if this one that i post here on R.N. is in activity or not, but one thing is certain, this is a GREAT record.

" Ritual music for..." is the only album that saw the light of day until now, it presents us with sounds that wander by tribal ambient music with strong ethnical influences, where the artist used a variety of hand drums and ethnic ritual instruments, supplemented by experimental electronic sounds. Svaixt is a great music project by one man, that comes from the Lithuanian, the person behind it is Laurynas Jukonis, a artist in the field of post-industrial music, he is also involved in other musical creations, such as Girnų Giesmės, oro!oro!, Nulis etc.

The words swaixtix, svastika, svaiksti have a common root that in Sanskrit or Indo-European mother-tongue means to shine, to glow, light, and this project reflects the artist interest in the roots of the civilisation, the beginning of the archaic, multi-meaningful, solid and conflictless reality.

The music consists of deep, pulsating and very transparent ambient building up mystic, arcane atmosphere that transcend and pulse with copper percussion, that propels the listener into a meditative state that approaches him through the organic nature and depth of its telluric energy.

The artist in question isnt new here on R.N., i already had post a great record by URNA, if you look on the blog you find it. Osireion is the first part of a work about the male/female divinities, the second part is "Iseion" release in july 2010 by Quartier 23.

This album begins with a very emotional track with religious chanting mantras which we refer indirectly to the Gregorian chants, where a very quiet sound wave, is preparing us for the sound universe explored in this album. The whole disc is very similar in construction, creating a calm and dense atmosphere with sporadic percussions that reminds me Dead Can Dance or Rajna. Osireion is a pure exercise of contemplation, a haven for discovery the inner self and what transcend it. Another record that i highly recommend to all friends of R.N.

Recently i acquired this gem, it is a musical project shrouded in obscurity, as I am aware there is no information of who is behind its creation, only know that probably comes from UK...
This excellent LP is divided in three parts, the first track corresponds to a ritualistic exercise that begins into a discreet way, moving progressively towards through a hypnotic journey, accompanied by the recitation of a strange voice. The second track is similar in construction to the first, where the ritualization of sound and the industrial percussion keeps a constant level, the same voice appears, however now aspires despair, grief and mourning. In the last track an endless sound wave approaching the end of the ritual, where now a perceptible voice declaims his final words in ancient dialect, Latin i think.

JOSKA SOOS - Shamanic Ritual (1998)

" Joska Soos was born in 1921 in a small village in Hungary where he was trained to become a shaman by the old village-shaman, also blacksmith and horse trader. After World War II he came to Belgium to stay. Since 1975 he gives workshops and helps people solve their problems. Although he says: "I do not heal, I restore harmony".

The theme of the shamanisation on this recording consists of the seven realms of consciousness. It starts with a short opening ritual for the elements of Earth, Water, Fire and Air. All have their own instrument."
This was a great discover for me, i love this record, the sound that he creates restores harmony within and between body, mind and soul, where the chants, drums and singing bowls open our consciousness to peacefull places of energy. He is also a painter, i like a lot his works, like other great shaman that is Pablo Amaringo.

This is what i call a truly ritual sound, and i have only one thing to say this is a Highly Recommend record.

DATHURA SUAVOLENS - Inebriare (2010)...{ R.N. nº6 }

As was reported by me on CBox about a special entry on R.N. on Samhain day, her i am to do it.The project in question had already been released in another entry in R.N., this is a very interesting Brazilian project moving in the ambient ritualistic sound, Dathura Suavolens its comprises by Grigori Hokma (David C. Doe), Circe (Daizo Correia ) and Furie (Filipe Costa).

"Inebriare" corresponds to their third musical work, and in my opinion increasingly has surpassed my expectations. This new disc is also a requested by the artists themselves that R.N. would be the first place to published it, which makes me very happy.

I must mention that this new work of Dathura Suavolens, it is very special to me, because is my first contribution to a artwork of a disc, where the concept of the cover was all mine own, i hope that the followers and visitors of R.N. like my work, as Dathura Suavolens showed his liking. I must indicate that in future i would be delighted to participate with other music artists artistically, so im open to proposals...

But returning to the disk in question, "Inebriare" is dedicated to the Masters of the Art of Witchcraft, as Lilith-Venus (in this case representing the mystery magnum and Great Queen of Witches), Hecate (the Great initiatrix of Witchcraft), the Opposition (as the true face of the God of the Witches) and finally to the Dead-Blood Witch, also called Mighty Dead.

This journey is aided by the Devil's Trumpet (Dathura Suavolens) that aims to provide the vision of these deities, leading us to the crossroads at midnight, where the perfect equilibrium is revealed. I must indicate that "Inebriare" is Highly Recommended and is in perfect harmony with Samhain day.

Like music artists from Italy, in recent years has emerged from Russian excellent music projects in the field of ambient, drone and ritual, Vresnit is one of theam. The person behind this project is Sergey Ilchuk, this record is a long mysterious voyage to such ancestral primordial tribes which rules the desolated territories in earth thoudsand years ago. The best way to describe its sonority is something we might call, Archaic Ritual Drone Ambient. The landscape that we can draw in this disc, is a representative worship of the old gods and trough the Nature itself, where hypnotizing acoustic analog atmospheres tranport us on a shamanic journey, where sometimes we can hear echoes of voices that enhance and complement the state of immersion of the subconscious and lead us through the obstacles of spiritual emancipation. Another great record that i recommend.

This is another artist that i like a lot,I have his whole discography, but in my opinion this is the best album so far. Exploring the inside of this record, we find minimal landscapes that lead us into the organic world that explores the underground, where the tribal and ritualistic percussion has a crucial role in this sonic journey, another record that I strongly recommend.

Annapurna Illusion is the music project off Maxime Primault, who is also behind HighWolf and Enfer Boréal. First of all i would like to say that i like a lot the name that was chosen to this project, sounds pretty good to my ears, and the same happens musically.

This album is presented to us with two long tracks ranging sonically between layers of cosmic synthesizers, accompanied by walls of noise, which has a psychedelic effect. The sound created brings to us the conscious ritualization of the individual, acquiring sometimes epic proportions, where the influence of Indian spirituality is present, but diluted in the sea of drones and through the percussion coyly camouflaged.

Noise Maker's Fifes was a Belgian music collective formed in 1990 by Geert Feytons (R.I.P.) and Timo van Luijk.

I real like this extint music project, their records are a Alchemic of different sounds, were we can find experimental and avantgard soundscapes to minimal rituals and improvisation. I decide to post here two records that in my opinion fit very well on the concept of R.N and are my favourites from their discography.Their music was created by a variety of often self-made instruments, like stumps and trunks from dead trees, in combination with electronic effects and environmental sound recordings, like the weird sounds of insects and other things from nature. Other thing that i appreciate on this artists, is the inspire artwork from some of the records.

After the last blog post of DATHURA SUAVOLENS, i though it would be of great interest to put here on R.N. a music compilation of Umbanda tradition (an Afro-Brazilian religion) where the last track from the artist that i mention was inspire "Rei da encruzilhada".

This record collected very famous musics among its various schools of Umbanda and the disk is a clear example of this multiplicity of rituals and ways of singing the holy people. The records range from rings and corners of the nation to the presence of Kêto, Kimbanda and Encantaria, with Tata José Ribeiro and Father Caio Ribeiro de Souza Aranha from Axé Ilê Obá and others.The music moves from Tribalism to African Brazilian Ritual Chants.

Having been contacted by those responsible for this new musical project, i was curious about what it was, and i must indicated that this is a very interesting musical work. Dathura Suavolens is a join project conceived by members of a Brazilian Coven (Falciferi Cathedrals) associated to traditional Witchcraft, having as main objective the creation of sounds for use in magic rituals.The sound created wanders by the experimentalism adorned with tribal rhythms, using music and songs of magical practices typically Brazilian (usually the Kimbanda and Catimbó) fused with dark ambient atmospheres. The project name comes from the plant Datura Suavolens, plant that the Aztecs used to start the men at maturity and in the mysteries of Mother Nature.This work envisions and advocates the use of Word and Silence in magical practice.

Staruha Mha was a great one-man music project from Russia, whose creator (Roman Sidorov) ended its life in 2003 (R.I.P.), Rusali was his first creation, and what amazing record. The sound explored by this artist who is no longer among us, goes through the ritual full of tribalism and dark environments where the prevalence of mesmerizing drone sometimes resulting in atmospheres where the industrial noise sounds are accompanying whith other abstract music, many of which were achieved through treatment of acoustic sounds captured through the heart of the splendor of nature, in places rarely frequented by humans, in which the landscapes and their elements, are prone to meditation.Higgly Recommend record.

ASENDRE is the side project of Irikarah, the music project of Andreas Arndt that comes from Denmark in the field of Industrial music. But Asendre is something diferent, on the first side of this LP the atmospheres created fluctuate trough a ritualistic and hypnotic atmosphere with neoclassic passages, accompanied by a voice that declaims strange words. The "B" side goes further dyeing to the initial sound, with industrial influences and some times a touch of power electronics. In all record the feeling of northern mythological is present, creating an aura of mystery on this great work that i recommend.

Well i know that this is not a normal post and i apologie for that, but i think to myself why not divulge my recent Art Project on my music Blog?! So here it is a brief description of what I intend to create.

"Organic Structures" is my new art project, which arose paralleled projects inspired by some artists that develop daily or assiduously works in small format, whether painting, collage, drawing or other medium.

"Organic Structures" goes beyond the idea of "sketchbook" as being a project that aims to keep with the same regularity, is based on a "Artist Statement". It should be noted that the name with which I baptized it, not intended to be a barrier to its operation and interpretation, but rather a facilitator of various artistic processes that I can dwell, where painting and collage will be the basic techniques. All artworks will be in Small Scale, and each one open paths to a language you can assign different logic, feelings and interpretations depending on the observer, which is a characteristic of contemporary art.

I dont know why in Italy come so great artists in the field of ambient music, and Gianluca Martucci is one of theam. Urna is a great music project that uses obscure sounds in his creations, like whispers, choirs, percussions, acustic sounds, bells, flutes etc. to pleasant uses with archaic ritual atmospheres that reminds me the artists of the extinct Forgotten Blood label.

This work is inspired by the mystic experience of Angela da Foligno (1248/49-1309). Another record that i Recommend to the followers of R.N.

A few weeks ago i recived another mail from a new artist that come from Greece, well only today i take sometime to listening this double cdr record, maybe it was the name that dont catch my atention and had make me waiting so long to ear it, and i still have the same opinion about the name that dont work very well, but nevermind, becouse this record is simple Great. Lets go by parts, first i love the Artwork, maybe when we see it we think that we are in front another Neo-Folk artist that use the same formula that all we in this kind of sound know very well, but we are wrong, yes the Neo-Folk influences are there in some tracks with addiction of martial and industrial sounds combined with nature sounds, but "Smiling Autumn Leaves" goes in other subtle direction, sometimes an ethereal wave sound enter through a dense fog that progressivly turns in to a pastoral spring day or a manorial autumn, where the drone folk and folktronica invite us to walk in the fields and felling the environment around us and breathing the fresh air without anykind of toxic degradation, that revitalised our senses and mind. A truely gem that i Higgly Recommend.

But lets talk about music, from Tel Aviv, comes this project that i already post a album on R.N, this record probaly have a different sound that i dont use to post on R.N., its a compelling work balanced between pure Neo-Folk, and ritual ambiance. The thematic of the album concentrates on the figure of Giuseppe Belsamo or Joseph Balsam (1743-1795), better known as Count Cagliostro, who founded the Memphis Rite in Freemasonry, it was a man of magic, or a charlatan, depending on the point of view - and the originator of the rituals of "Egyptian Mansonry". Its a record that moves on the esoteric world of occultism. Recommend.

J.R.Moore is the man behind this great obscure project that comes from U.K. What our senses will feel and catch in the presence of this spectral procession will be blackened drones and foetid summonings accompany with ritual percussions. Sometimes in the middle of this 40 minute long track i find a black shadow of " Zero Kama ", a great project that i already had post here on R.N, but dont get me wrong Black Mountain Tranmitter is completely different and is simply Great. In Indian religions, Deva Loka is a plane of existence where gods and devas exist. The deva lokas are usually described as places of eternal light and goodness, similar to the concept of Heaven.

This obscure German project that i dont have any information, are simply AMAZING, so i decide post here on Ritualistic Nature two of the three records that i have from theam.

"The Chants of Naas" have two long tracks that are similar in structure, on the first one our mind is conduct with a soft obsessive tibetan percussion, where a strange woman voice spelt a endless mantra. On the last track the same mantra appears, but this time the backsound sounds are more like the ambient soundscapes that we will find on "Aural Structures for Rituals", but with an ethereal atmosphere that enwind our body and mind.

Cernunnos Woods was a nice project of Bard Algol Eriboas (Josh Cok), built around his lust, passion, and devotion to Celtic Traditions where the druidic philosophy is very present. The sounds of Cernunnos' Woods weaving through a deep atmosphere of bardic sound and ancestral splendour.

I have this record a long time ago and i like it a lot, but dont spect to find here very deep rituals sounds, the sound flows in the ambient darkwave field, projects like Mortiis (the past works), Lord Wind and Pazuzu could come to our mind, the difference between the mention artists is that their works are more related through the worlds created by J.R.R. Tolkien or Robert E. Howard , Cernunnos Woods gets his inpiration from the Megalithism Landscapes where the ritual stones and the sacred owk forests are the place to the druidic invocation and magic.

The Division is the new sound project of Matthew Schultz, its a reconstruction of ancient spells and rituals reinterpreted by him and delved into the esoteric and ancient fraternal order of "The Division". He has reinterpreted the traditional texts and scores of the order to create a beautifully dynamic and sometimes disturbing disc that synthesizes world music, dark ritual ambient and magick or Matgick. Mantras is the first in a trilogy of discs that express all the aspects of The Division.

Schultz was the founding member of Lab Report which included musicians such as Genesis P Orridge,

Lydia Lunch and Chris Connelly. He was the inventor of the acclaimed A.T.G. or Anti Tank Guitar.

He utilized this instrument not only with Lab Report but also with Pigface and performed on several of their early releases.

"Shcut enteRing worts" consist of two forceful tracks, but not distinguished, its a long track starting from a hypnotic mantra, that progress to organic sounds, supplemented by tabors, bells, magic spells and mysterious drones floating from distant landscapes that creates a strong psychedelic effect.

Kulgrinda is an amazing band that come from Lithuania and was founded on 1990. The magick sound that they created could be describe has a initiation and discover of the oldest times were man was more connected to Nature. Their Baltic Ritual Folk melodies touch our soul even if we dont understand their language, the songs emerge from the sounds of drums, bagpipes, violins and other instruments. Kulgrinda offer us hyms to the divine, reflected on his creation, the place that we call Earth and were we live and die. The band name means a secret cobbled road through a march or lake leading to a castle or a sacred place. In this excelent record that i Higlly Recommend,is dedicated to the Swiss doctor, alchemist and astrologist, called Theophrastus Philippus Aureolus Bombastus von Hohenheim. Born in 1493 his approach to medicine at his time was very different from his contemporaries, where he defended the theory of the "humors".

For the last day of December i decide to post a record that i like a lot, not only for the sound, but also for the art cover that ist Beautiful. The must probaly thing, is that you can find this Great record in other places in net, so this is one more reason to listening it and wrap yourself with such sounds and come more close to a meditative state of conscient Nature.

Pausal is Alex and Simon and they come from the rural Hampshire, in UK, they began this project during the lazy summer of 2005.
Their live shows are a complete immersive experience, utilizing large scale visuals created by Alex as well as putting on occasional outdoor shows in the beautiful English countryside.

First of all you probaly will find strange that i post on R.N. this kind of record, this one is my last acquisiton, and the reason that i post here is simple becouse "Supernova" have some great ritual passages, all the album looks like we are attacked with a sharpened knife from a"giallo" killer, but than we recived some comfort with bleak ambient sounds and ritual parts. But be prepared, this is Industrial and sometimes very hard, with drones, dark heavy beats, rotting and noisy,deep distorted guitars all mixed with obscure vocal lines. Satanismo Calibro 9 is somekind of fusion with the sound of MZ.412, Die Sonne Satan, Folkstorm and the cult project Atrax Morgue from Marco Corbelli. Like Corbelli Satanismo Calibro 9 comes from Italy and started its activity during fall winter 2005/2006 as solo project of Doktor Pery, later, also Lara, Gnosis, Henker, Plague and Ciano joined the band. Very Recommend Record, but only if you like some of the bands that i mention.

Cyril Laurent is the person behind Lambwool, his music combines layers of electronic sounds and field recordings with acoustic instruments, mainly strings but with the occasional appearance of tribal and organic percussions, all record is somekind of a soundtrack to the winter days, where this fading esotherical and ritual soundscapes creates calm and dreamlike mood that is in total symbiosis with the peculiar atmosphere of Peter Bengtsen's photos, whose works also adorn record covers from bands like Sonne Hagal, Sidderartica, Harvest Rain and Der Arbeiter. The track number 5 that is a colaboration with Othila and track 10, are my favourites.

Telema (Θελημα), is a project from Hajot Gmeilbauer, this austrian is member of Sturmpercht, Soulsearch and Magdalena, and exists since the early 90ths. The sound is mystic, dark and ritual with real sacral parts, female voices and percussions. The album is a conceptual release in memory of Viktor Schauberger, who was an Austrian forester/forest warden, naturalist, philosopher, inventor and Biomimicry experimenter with a deep knowledge in physics and chemistry. Its a very nice record.

This is another great record of this collective project (Oöphoi, Klaus Wiese, Tau Ceti ,Mathias Grassow, Mauro Malgrande, Lorenzo Pierobon, and others) that incorporate sounds that maybe are located in the confins of the abandon deep space, where textures and tones are turn to the within of psyche deep, where resonant drones have the feeling of ascending higher and higher as one listens and it's clear that we are coming from the depth of the nascent universe, to a more personal inner one.We can find influences of the Buddhist rituals, like in the pitched sounds of singing bowls that turn us into some kind of trance, accompanied by strange whispering winds and ghostly ambiences.

Two weeks ago i recived another mail from a new upcoming band that ask me if i dont mind to post their work here on R.N., they are Raaksha (the phrase refers to the ancient language of Singhela) from Sri Lanka and they play some kind of Ritualistic Black metal. Well i was not to post this here, first i dont like allmust of the bands that incorporate ritual music with raw black metal, second becouse in my opinion the sound its a little rudimentary, but i think its normal for a first realised. I think all of you that come the R.N. know this amazing project, they are one of my favourite bands of all time, like Dead Can Dance and Muslimgauze. I decide to post all the records here on R.N., this posts were on the other blog that im a contributor "The Rosemary Locale" (music blog that i dont post anything along time ago...), but i think they fit very well here, so i tranfer them to R.N. Behind the original records that i have, in this same post you find the book with all music letters created by Alzbeth. I know that its easy to find some of TMLHBAC records on the blogger world, and i also know that allmust that what you find was taken from my posts on The Rosemary Locale :P

"The Moon lay hidden beneath a Cloud (TMLHBAC) was an Austrian musical duo composed of Albin Julius ( Der Blutharsch). and Alzbeth. Their music reflected their deep fascination with myriad aspects of European medievalism including ritual, clerical chants and the daily experience of the peasantry.Their music combined modern electronics, tape loops and samplers with medieval instruments such as the shawm, hurdy gurdy, and Hexenscheit. Alzbeth was the primary vocalist for the group and often sang traditional songs in numerous archaic languages including Middle High German, Latin and Old French. Julius provided distorted and backup vocals."

The project name describe a phenomenon that occur in every place on earth, its a real situation that we can present. This situation provoke different reactions and experiences on people. Some feel exalted others stronger, free, depressed or puzzled with the scenery. But all feel noble with the phenomenon. The TMLHBAC music must be feel by the listener in personal way, This is the reason why they never put names on tracks and label their music, the space is open to fantasy…

Becouse the tracks are untitled, i will only say how mutch them are in ich record.The music was released on their own Arthur's Round Table record label and distributed by World Serpent Distribution.

I like all records from TMLHBAC but this one is very special for me, becouse was my first approach to their sound, i perfectly remember the story behind this one. I was in school and one of my friends that in that time listen some stuff in Gothic Ethereal and DarkWave field, had visit a music store in Lisbon called "Symbiose" and he take to me their catologue, and in all that they have there was a very strange name that catch my attention, and when he had back to the store i had tell him to buy that one, and when i listening that, i think to my self "what the f.... is this? its AMAZING :) so from that time im a big "fan" of the band :)
" The castle ruins continue cursed.Black words of victory are now listen. A new order emerge from the silence. The standards where risen to the wind on the proclamation of heretic rites. Kostnice was recorded at the ossuary of Köstel Vsech svatých (All Saints' Church) in Bohemia.It has to be said that the music on this live recording is a bit thin and the sound quality does not compare with the studio-recorded CDs.
Issued in a limited edition of 222 numbered copies. Packaged in a paper similar to parchment-style and sealed with wax seals.

A Night In Fear (Split cd with DEUTSCH NEPAL) (1996)

A Night In Fear (1996 ART 8) is a joint production of the Moon lay hidden and their good friend, Lina of Deutsch Nepal. This is not a split CD but a close collaboration between the two parties, creating a neo-folk/ritual-industrial hybrid which is more than the sum of its parts. The CD cover appears to feature some jolly huntsmen, but in usual minimalist Moon style other details are marked by their absence.

This 7" was originally ment to be givin away at the 1996 concert of both groups at a church in Weißenburg, Germany. Although due to unacceptable restrictions from the Weißenburg Church Council, the concert was cancelled, and the 7" was made available through Arthur's Round Table. Initially ment as a split release by the two bands, it later evolved into a collaboration as each band "finished" the tracks of the other artist. Limited edition released in a sleeve with an embossed Algiz rune.

"Were you of silver, Were you of gold" (1996 ART 6) contains eight tracks which were specially written and recorded for the Dutch Radio 3/VPRO show 'Grand Disco Classique' and first broadcast in October 1995. This will also was issued in a limited (to 500) vinyl edition with an extra track.The theme reflects their "inner conflict" with the bloody history of Yugoslavia and its style is very Balkan indeed.

Yndalongg containing unreleased tracks, all recorded at Little Saxam Church, Suffolk
The A side is more typical of the duo's normal style,first track concerns the heinous 'Children's Crusade' of 1212 in which corrupt merchants traded on Christian zeal to transport thousands of children from Marseilles to Alexandria where they were sold into slavery. The song has a strong melody line, clever counterpoising of Elisabeth's two vocal tracks. The second track appears to be a thematic sequel.
The B side has a laid-back, ambient-industrial instrumental which is very like some Nurse With Wound.
Yndalongg is a 10" and comes in a grey sleeve with a grey poster featuring the group's logo. Limited edition to 555 copies.

The Smell Of Blood But Victory (1997, Box Set)

The definitive work of The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath A Cloud. Symphonic strata of orchestral samples, beating martial rhythms and haunting chants evocate a very frightening vision of war and destruction. Track 02 is the one which will be reworked and used by Albin Julius with his solo project Der Blutharsch as the famous "God Punish England". CD 2 includes one of the best tracks ever by the band: it is about the madness of nazi SS commander Heinrich Himmler and the music is a powerful Wagnerian orchestration which would be worth of the best Laibach and Autopsia. The final track is a beautiful 14 minutes loops created using a sample from Prokofiev's "Alexander Nievski".

Jorge Reyes was (R.I.P.) the leading figure in contemporary Mexican Ambient music,who incorporated elements of his native Mexican culture into his sounds. He performed as the member of several groups and collaborations (most notably with Steve Roach) as well as solo. His concerts was an authentic Prehispanic Ritual Ceremonys, and all must the time was associate to mexican ancestral traditions like The Day of the Deads and the Spring Equinox.

SHAVA SADHANA - Andask (2006)

Vingthorr is the person behind Shava Sadhana, that is exclusively ritualistic, worshipping both Kali Ma with secret mantras and the Germanic Wotan/Odin. Different occult tenets, especially those of Aleister Crowley, are also woven into his work. Another stimulus for creativity are the journeys that the artist Vingthorr makes by means of different psychedelic, mostly unknown substances, which were investigated by Alexander Shulgin. Different symbolism of runeology and old hinduistic rituals are merged into an individual occult Shava Sadhana philosophy.

"Shava Sadhana is a sanskrit term meaning meditation on a dead body. The meditating person sits down on a fresh corpse on the cremation ground and calls for the mother Smashan Kali who dwells there with immaterial spirits, so that she can possess the dead body and get in contact with the meditating person."

The first thing that come to my mind when i first hear this project was PSYCHONAUT, that i already had post in Ritualistic Nature, but Shava Sadhana is more in the field of psychedelic electronic with the fusion of Ritual Ambient and some Industrial touches, its a nice project.

Vagina Dentata Organ is an art and noise music project by Jordi Valls. His albums could be classed as especially bleak field recordings, dealing with subject matter such as sex, death, violence, etc.Valls work is also concerned with the fetishism of art in general and record collecting particularly, with his records being pressed in very small numbers.
Vagina Dentata Organ have provoked outrage on a number of occasions, firstly with the release of infamous recordings of the last few hours of the Peoples Temple in Jonestown, Guyana. VDO's performance in 1984 on Spanish TV programme La Edad de Oro caused a public outcry as it included the destruction of three paintings.More recently Jordi Valls has concentrated on paintings rather than recording, producing a large number of portraits of supermodels with his own blood.

There is a mysterious custom in a small Spanish village called Calanda. Every year at Easter more than 2000 drums are beaten by people of all ages, day and night, non-stop during two days. It's a powerful and strangely moving experience. Luis Bunuel the Surrealist film maker was born there. The Triumph Of The Flesh was recorded live in this ritualistic ceremony.

After reciving a mail from a Ritual Follower that send me his music project to i listening, i decide that from NOW, every one that have some kind of "AMBIENT" project, no matter if his ritual, tribal, drone etc., i dont mind to listening your works, and if have some quality i will post theam here on Ritualistic Nature, so when you see this Symbols ###, you know that someone had sent me some music project.

Nivroth his a music project from Romania, Stefan had composed this little piece of sound when he was very young, in that time he barely listened some metal music for 1 year or 2.. so, the "inspiration" was nearly inexistent back then, in this context i think the sound its ok, so what you find here are three tracks that moves on the Dark Ambient field. I hope that in future Nivroth start again to creat new music, the project have potential to do nice things.

Im back again to the posts on Ritualistic Nature, this one is the number 100, so i decide to post another interesting Portuguese Zine, that i think only exist two numbers...Robur was a publication from the defunct label Reaping Horde, that was manage by J.Arnos from Wolfskin and Karnnos, with the help by the other membres of the groups (A. Guerra, A. Tilia...).

Robur II was a very limited edition (mine is the XXI), so you find here very interesting articules about indo-european traditions, historical informations about the origins of the Iberic settlement etc. You find also music and book reviews, with a special articule about the work of Yukio Mishima, and in the last pages you have some poetry from the contributors of Robur. But like the Crepusculi Aurora post, once more there is the same problem, you must understand portuguese to read this gem.

PHOLDE - ...and With It, We Shall Divide (2003)

Pholde is a sound project created by Alan Bloor (he is behind other project named Knurl) that began in 2000. Pholde transmutes the sounds of metal, concrete and other 'primitive" sources into palpable, organic tones and drones and chimes that reawaken the neolithic sould in all of us.
The sound his Dark, haunting,wall-shaking rumbles layered with cavernous dronings punctuated with metallic explosions that created drones from metal of different tensile strengths. I have other records from Pholde, but in all that i know, in my opinion this one is the best work, becouse its more diversety,the others are all too similar.

Sounds were produced from an instrument created from welded stainless steel plates. It was bowed, scraped, and struck with angle iron, small steel rods, and metal bars.
